Tony Khan Announces AEW World Tag Team Titles Are Officially Vacant, Will Be Holding Multi-Bracket Tournament To Crown New Champions
New champions will be crowned soon.
At AEW Revolution. Sting and Darby Allin remained on top and undefeated as the AEW World Tag Team Champions against the Young Bucks in the final match of the legendary Icon’s career after 39 incredible years in the business.
During the AEW media scrum, Tony Khan announced that the tag team championships would officially become vacant following the win by Sting and Allin. Khan also announced that AEW is in the middle of building multi-brackets for a future tournament to crown new AEW World Tag Team Champions.
Sting ended his career on a high note by locking Matthew Jackson in the Scorpion Deathlock and forcing him to tap out to end the night and his career in the best way possible.
Allin is scheduled to be in action at AEW Big Business when he goes one-on-one with the Switchblade Jay White on March 13.
