Drew McIntyre: I’m The One Keeping CM Punk Relevant, He Should Be Thanking Me
Drew McIntyre feels like the cult of personality should be saying thank you.
Drew McIntyre earned one more shot at becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 by defeating five other men at the Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia. But, the Scottish Psychopath still has enough time in his day to throw some shots at the voice of the voiceless.
McIntyre was on WWE’s The Bump where he was asked if he feels he has been too rough or harsh on CM Punk since they made their return to the WWE last November at Survivor Series after a decade away from the company.
“Too harsh? I think Punk and everyone should be thanking me. All his fans should be thanking me because I’m the one keeping him relevant right now by constantly talking about him. Not only that, I’ve dedicated my win at WrestleMania, the world title match to Punk, so if anything, I’m the good guy here. I don’t see the issue. Should be thanking me. Send me gifts, Punk,” McIntyre said.
McIntyre is currently preparing for his Road to WrestleMania to culminate with a match against Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, however, McIntyre has to prepare for Jey Uso on the March 4 edition of Monday Night Raw before the biggest night of his career.
