Janel Grant Stays Lawsuit Against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis & WWE Pending Private Investigation
An Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York has officially filed a notice of appearance in the ongoing case of Grant v. WWE, McMahon, and John Laurinaitis. This legal development signals a significant step in the lawsuit, which is currently being stayed due to a pending non-public investigation.
Attorney Ann Callis, representing Janel Grant, provided a statement: “Ms. Grant has consented to a request by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York to stay her case against Mr. McMahon, WWE, and Mr. Laurinaitis, pursuant to a pending non-public investigation. We will cooperate with all appropriate next steps.”
Multiple news outlets, including ABC News and the Wall Street Journal, have reported that the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York is leading an investigation related to sexual misconduct allegations against Vince McMahon. As of now, it remains unclear if criminal charges will be brought against McMahon. A recent search of the SDNY’s online filing system showed no new cases involving McMahon’s name.
In response to the situation, Vince McMahon’s attorney, Jessica Rosenberg, issued a statement: “We remain confident the evidence will prove Ms. Grant’s allegations are false and her complaint is nothing more than a fabricated, vindictive narrative from a disgruntled former girlfriend.”
Wrestlenomics has reached out to all parties involved in the case but received no further comments. The wrestling world is closely watching the developments in this case, which could have significant implications for WWE and its leadership.
