AEW Friday Night Rampage Results & Review (June 21st)
AEW aired Rampage live from Fairfax Virginia as we are on the road to Forbidden Door as we have a Quarter Final Match of the 2024 Owen Hart Cup on the Women’s side in the Main Event & we also find out who will be the 5th man in the TNT Title Ladder Match.
Tag Team Match
Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) vs. Komander & Metalik
Isiah Kassidy & Komander lock up before Kassidy hits an arm drag to Komander but Komander responds with a hurricanrana off the ropes.
Metalik tags in and hits a double arm drag to Kassidy before they land a double elbow drop.
Marq Quen tags in and delivers a dropkick to Metalik then tags back out to Kassidy.
Metalik hits Private Party with a double back elbow then tags in Komander.
Komander ascends to the top rope and hits a crossbody to level Private Party then hits a double arm drag to them. He hits a hurricanrana to Quen and lands a chop on Kassidy then hits a hurricanrana to him.
Metalik then flies over the top rope to level Private Party on the outside and Komander follows it up by hitting a Sky Twister. He gets Kassidy back inside the ring and pins him but Kassidy kicks out as we go to a break.
After the break Komander tags in and Kassidy plants him with a spinebuster.
Quen tags in and lands a back elbow on Metalik then follows it up with a kick and sits him on the top rope.
He then hits a moonsault off the ropes to level Komander and hits a superplex to Metalik.
He climbs back up to the top rope and hits a 450 Splash then goes for a pin.
Komander breaks the fall but Quen dumps him out of the ring.
Metalik hits Quen and connects with a dropkick to him off the top rope then goes for a pin but Kassidy breaks the fall. Kassidy then tags in and fires off forearms, right hands, and left hands on Metalik.
Quen & Komander then ascend to the top rope and look to fly at the same time but Kassidy & Metalik move out of the way. Private Party then hits Gin & Juice to Metalik for the win.
Winners: Private Party
After the match FTW Champion Chris Jericho, Big Bill & Bryan Keith appear on the ramp. They begin brawling with Private Party and quickly overpower them before security and officials run down to separate the 5 men.
Rey Fenix vs. Turbo Floyd
Turbo Floyd hits a shoulder tackle to Fenix then follows it up with an elbow drop and goes for a pin but Fenix kicks out.
Fenix then hits a crossbody off the ropes and out of the corner then walks the ropes to level Floyd and hits a Frog Splash to him for the win.
Winner: Rey Fenix
TNT Title Qualifying Match
Lio Rush vs. Action Andretti
Match starts off with a lock up before Lio Rush hits a hurricanrana to Action Andretti but Andretti lands on his feet.
They continue to go back & forth before they hit one another with crossbodies as we go to a break.
After the break Andretti hits a boot to Rush that sends him crashing to the outside.
He hits a springboard moonsault to level him, then gets him back inside the ring and looks to fly.
Rush moves out of the way and Andretti connects with a Falcon Arrow on him. He goes for a pin but Rush kicks out.
Andretti gets Rush up on his shoulders but Rush escapes and looks to level Andretti.
Andretti counters and sends Rush crashing into the mat then looks to fly out of the corner.
Rush sees him coming and lands an enzuigiri on him then hits a springboard Stunner and a Final Hour off the top rope for the win.
Winner & Gets Into The TNT Title Ladder Match: Lio Rush
After the match Top Flight joins Andretti in the ring and stares down Rush. Rush helps up Andretti and they shake hands. Rush then extends his hand to Top Flight and they take it.
Shingo Takagi vs. AR Fox
AR Fox wastes no time going after Shingo Takagi before Takagi hits Fox with a low dropkick but Fox levels him with a moonsault off the apron and gets him back inside the ring.
He hits a Swanton Bomb and goes for a pin but Takagi kicks out.
Takagi sends Fox crashing into the mat then rains down Hammer & Anvil elbows on him.
He looks to level Fox but Fox moves out of the way and delivers a neckbreaker to Takagi.
He ascends to the top rope and hits a 450 Splash to Takagi then goes for a pin but Takagi kicks out.
Fox looks to land a flatliner on Takagi off the ropes but Takagi blocks him and hits Pumping Bomber to him. Fox rolls up Takagi but Takagi kicks out and hits a Death Valley Driver to Fox.
He hits him with another Pumping Bomber and drives him into the mat with Last Of The Dragon for the win.
Winner: Shingo Takagi
After the match Bryan Danielson’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. He offers his hand to Takagi but Takagi pushes it away and stares down Danielson. He then pushes him aside and heads to the back.
Quarter Final Match Of The 2024 Women’s Owen Hart Cup
Willow Nightingale vs. Serena Deeb
Match starts off with a lock up before Willow Nightingale executes a mat on Serena Deeb but Deeb hits a shoulder tackle to her. Nightingale blocks it and Deeb looks to land a 2nd one on her.
Nightingale levels Deeb with a shoulder tackle and a bodyslam then lands a low crossbody and goes for a pin.
Deeb kicks out and Nightingale connects with a delayed vertical suplex to her then looks to fly.
Deeb sees her coming and looks to lock in a leg submission but Nightingale makes her way to the bottom rope before she can get it fully cinched in.
Deeb then hits a swinging neckbreaker to Nightingale on the outside as we go to a break.
After the break Nightingale hits a hip attack to Deeb in the corner.
She follows it up with a spinebuster and goes for a pin but Deeb kicks out. Deeb hits a kick to Nightingale then locks in an Octopus.
Nightingale counters into a side slam but Deeb cinches in a Half Boston Crab on her.
Nightingale fights her way out and Deeb ascends to the top rope but Nightingale meets her up there and hits a superplex. Deeb lands an uppercut on Nightingale but Nightingale hits a chop to her.
Deeb lands a chop of her own on Nightingale but Nightingale hits another one.
They then continue exchanging strikes before Nightingale looks to land a cannonball on Deeb in the corner but Deeb moves out of the way and connects with Deeb tox then goes for a pin.
Nightingale kicks out, and Deeb jams Nightingale’s knee repeatedly into the mat.
She looks to cinch in Serenity Lock but Nightingale escapes and gets Deeb up on her shoulders.
Nightingale’s knee gives out and Deeb lands a few uppercuts but Nightingale catches her with a shoulder pounce and follows it up with Doctor Bomb for the win.
Winner: Willow Nightingale (11:34) (She will face Kris Statlander in the Semi Finals)
