NJPW Star Tomohiro Ishii To Compete With AEW Throughout Summer

The Stone Pitbull is going to be sticking around AEW all Summer.

NJPW Star “The Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii will not be competing in the G1 Climax 34, marking the first time he has missed the tournament in 11 years. But, it looks like Ishii will have a busy Summer nonetheless, as it was announced that he will be sticking around with AEW for the Summer of 2024.

Tony Khan took to social media following Tomohiro Ishii’s appearance on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, which saw him compete as part of the Global Glory Four-Way match against Kyle Fletcher, Claudio Castagnoli, and PAC, and revealed that “The Stone Pitbull” will be sticking around with AEW throughout the Summer.

“It’s so great having @njpwglobal all-time legend Tomohiro Ishii here in AEW on Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite TONIGHT!

We love having Ishii here + now he’s going to stay here in @AEW with us for the rest of summer 2024!

Tomohiro Ishii has appeared for AEW on multiple occasions in the past. Most recently being at last weekend’s AEW Forbidden Door 2024 Zero Hour Pre-Show in a Four-Way Tag Team Matchup with Kyle O’Reilly against NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Gabe Kidd & Roderick Strong, the House Of Black (Malakai Black & Brody King), and Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen).
