Somebody call his mama. The former Brodus Clay, currently named Tyrus, recently spoke on Fox News about the grassroots group “White Dudes for Harris,” and boy oh boy, was he mad about it.
The group, which held a Zoom call-cum-fundraiser on Tuesday for presidential candidate Kamala Harris, raised more than $4 million in just a few hours.
And that has made a lot of people very, very mad. Including the former NWA Heavyweight Champion.
Tyrus, in addition to being a professional wrestler (who appeared at two WrestleMania’s, though not to actually wrestle), is also a commentator on Fox News from time to time. And on Wednesday, the former Funkasaurus offered his opinion about what he calls the “gentle racism,” of “White Dudes for Harris.”
“It’s so racist,” Tyrus said on the Fox News show, The Five (He was the fifth. The other four, who chuckled, were white). “The polite racism cracks me up.”
But Tyrus was not laughing. Instead, he had his face buried in his hands as he condemned and pontificated.
“It’s never the republicans to ever bring up race,” Tyrus said, for some reason. “It’s always the same thing: ‘White Dudes for Kamala’ (not the name of the group). Awesome. Now I’ll start setting up ‘White Dudes for Tyrus.'”
There will be three of them, including Billy Corgan.
That thought, however sparked a string of ideas for proposed groups.
“It just makes no sense,” Tyrus bemoaned. “What if we had ‘Black Brothers for Trump?’ Well, we’d all lose our blackness as soon as we showed up for the meetings.”
Incidentally, back in 2020, during Trump’s bid for a second term as president, there was a group called ‘Blacks for Trumps.’ And according to a story from The Intercept, the leader of said group, Maurice Symonette, a.k.a. ‘Michael the Black Man,’ is a former member of a violent cult who posts anti-Semitic screeds and racist conspiracy theories online.”
So…
Tyrus continued his rant, asking, “What if we had ‘White Guys for, I dunno, Nazi-ism.”
Maybe Tyrus doesn’t understand that “White Guys for Nazi-ism” are just, like, Nazis.
