Damon Kemp Is Now A Free Agent

The Wrestling business has gained another free agent coming off WWE.

Damon Kemp, the brother of former WWE wrestler and Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson, has announced on his X account that he is now a free agent. This announcement comes after his contract with WWE has officially concluded.

According to reports from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Damon Kemp’s contract with WWE has not been renewed, and he is not part of the company’s recent roster cuts. Most recently, Kemp had been a member of the No Quarter Catch Crew stable in NXT, alongside Charlie Dempsey and Myles Borne. His last match on NXT saw him lose to Tavion Heights, with the stipulation that if Kemp lost, Heights would be added to the NXT roster.

Prior to his WWE career, Kemp was a successful amateur wrestler at the University of Minnesota, qualifying for the NCAA tournament in 2017. He signed with WWE in 2021 and was introduced as the newest member of Roderick Strong’s Diamond Mine group. After the group disbanded, Kemp embarked on a solo career before joining the No Quarter Catch Crew. During his time with WWE, Kemp has participated in a total of 84 matches, with 23 wins and 61 losses.

The announcement of Kemp’s free agent status suggests he is open to considering various options and potential affiliations as he determines the next step in his wrestling career. This development will likely generate interest and speculation within the wrestling community regarding Kemp’s future plans and where he may eventually land.
