Zack Sabre Jr: Bryan Danielson Is Someone That Inspired Me From The Beginning, I’m Grateful He Believes In Me

Zack Sabre Jr respects his inspiration and rival in the squared circle.

After Bryan Danielson said he would love to see his rival become the second non-Japanese man in history to emerge victorious in the G1 Climax, Zack Sabre Jr beat the odds and walked away with the biggest accomplishment of his career. When talking about the moment, ZSJ praised the respect he’s been shown by Danielson who has played a huge part in the career of Sabre Jr since the beginning.

“I’m really grateful for him saying he believed in me. He’s someone that’s inspired me from the beginning of my career, and when you have a rival and contemporary like that who believes in you, that gave me the boost I needed, as well as (Yoshinari) Ogawa san announcing his retirement. My whole career has been about me aspiring to personal goals, but this is bigger than me,” Sabre Jr. said to NJPW’s website.

ZSJ has said that he does not want to wait until Wrestle Kingdom to challenge Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, ZSJ prefers the sooner, the better for him to win the big one.
