Jon Moxley Retires Bryan Danielson, Wins AEW World Championship At AEW WrestleDream

The main event finally arrived and both men left everything on the line against each other.

AEW Wrestle Dream had one match left in the night and it was a heated rivalry for the AEW World Championship between the champion, ‘The American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson vs. Jon Moxley who betrayed Danielson at AEW All Out before defeating Darby Allin at AEW Grand Slam to earn a shot at becoming a three-time world champion.

Danielson’s entrance would be interrupted by Moxley, but as the music continued to play, the crowd sang every word of Europe’s The Final Countdown as both men threw blows at each other and tried to choke the life out of the other.

Cement floors? Not a problem for Moxley who has pleaded for weeks that he is only doing what is best for Danielson by ending his career, dead or alive.

Danielson challenged Moxley in the center of the ring where he landed kicks to the chest and head, but as soon as Marina Shafir, who interrupted the night for Danielson more than enough times was ejected from ringside.

In the end, the blows came down to the final choke as Moxley secured the win, retiring the legendary Danielson on his home soil to get his fourth reign as the AEW World Champion at AEW WrestleDream.
