On this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, the unexpected happened when AJ Styles was defeated by Daniel Bryan, who turned heel and lost his WWE Championship. Thus Bryan is the new champion, just days before Survivor Series. AJ lost his opportunity to face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.
On Twitter, AJ said, “The thing about being a real Champion, a reigning, DEFENDING champion is that any day someone can beat you. But holding the title is more than just wins and losses, it’s about who you are as a man. Daniel showed us that last night. And the receipt is coming.”
There will be an eventual feud between Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles since AJ still has his rematch clause.
