On October 19th, 2024 AEW aired the 66th episode of Collision live in Stockton California inside Adventist Arena.
Note: This review will be shorter then normal as it be the last few mins of the match.
-Kicking off this week’s Collision with a video featuring Blackpool Combat Club. Jon Moxley said nothing has changed since he won the AEW World Title. He said no one owns the belt, it’s for the position. Moxley said he’s the only man who sat in the chair. He when he looks at the belt it is everything he hates and has been fighting against for years.
-Moxley said it’s everything that AEW is not supposed to be. Moxley said nothing is free in the world and yet they are giving Top Flight the gift of a shot at the Trios Titles. Moxley said their cause is pure and their enemies are weak. He said it’s not Top Flight’s coronation, it’s their public execution.
Ricochet vs. AR Fox
Ricochet hits a spinning neckbreaker from the ropes.
AR Fox pulls Ricochet through the ropes into a DDT then powerbombs him for a near fall.
Fox hits a 450 splash for a near fall before Ricochet battled back and hits Vertigo for the win.
Winner: Ricochet
-After the match Ricochet said he came to AEW because it is where the best come to wrestle. Ricochet said that while Konosuke Takeshita is the International Champion, he will be there waiting to kick Takeshita’s ass no matter where he goes.
-Private Party & Daniel Garica cuts a backstage promo about TNT Champion Jack Perry & AEW World Tag Team Champions Young Bucks and labeled them complacent cowards. Marq Quen said before they beat their asses on Dynamite, they had business to take care of later in the show.
Kris Statlander vs. Harley Cameron
Kris Statlander held up Harley Cameron before completing a vertical suplex.
Cameron came back with a DDT & yet only got a one count.
Statlander came back and hits Saturday Night Fever to get the win.
Winner: Kris Statlander
-After the match Statlander calls out Kamille, saying it’s about time she met her match. Statlander said she would make sure Mercedes Mone has a front row seat for the match.
-After the break Smart Mark Sterling cuts a promo about how they would take out Private Party & Daniel Garica for The Elite. He did his usual cornball bit where he encourages the crowd to say the Athletes rule which leads to the crowd saying they suck
Trios Match
The Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari, Tony Nese & Josh Woods) vs. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) & Daniel Garica
Private Party connects with Silly String before Smart Mark Sterling climbed on the apron and distracted Daniel Garcia briefly. Private Party hits Josh Woods with Gin & Juice for the victory.
Winners: Private Party & Daniel Garica
-Jake Roberts narrated a video package on his new LFI faction and their upcoming match against The Outrunners
Orange Cassidy vs. Bulk Bronson
Jacked Jameson kept yapping on the apron until Orange Cassidy knocks him down.
Cassidy hits an Orange Punch and Beach Break for the super quick win.
Winner: Orange Cassidy
Jamie Hayter vs. Brooke Havok
Jamie Hayter connects with Hayterade for the win.
Winner: Jamie Hayter
-After the match Penelope Ford appeared on the stage and said she attacked Hayter because most people have to work for their opportunities. Ford calls Hayter a backstabbing bitch. She said she was out for 2 years and Hayter never checked in on her while Hayter was out for a year and came back to a parade at Wembley Stadium.
-Backstage Lexi Nair spoke with Daniel Garcia & Private Party as they were celebrating their win. Orange Cassidy showed up. Garcia said they were waiting for him all night. He said it’s not about being a hero or a tough guy, it’s about holding each other accountable. Garcia said Cassidy has beaten all of those guys before. Cassidy said it changes him whenever he’s in the ring with one of those guys. Cassidy said he’s not a leader.
Kyle Fletcher vs. Atlantis Jr
Atlantis Jr hits a Destroyer and then went up top and hits Atlantic Splash on Kyle Fletcher.
Atlantis went up top again and went for the Atlantic Splash again but Fletcher put his knees up.
Fletcher stood on the 2nd rope and hits a brainbuster on the top turnbuckle for the win.
Winner: Kyle Fletcher
-After the match Callis joined Fletcher inside the ring for a promo. Fletcher said he was ready to talk. He said he wouldn’t waste his breath on these fans but he is ready to talk on Dynamite. Fletcher said you will listen then added especially you, Will.
-Highlights aired of Darby Allin beating Brody King at WrestleDream and the handshake that followed the match.
Trios Match
House Of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews & Brody King) vs. Alpha Zo, Chris Nasty & Olumide
Buddy Matthews pins one of them to get the win.
Winners: House Of Black
-Thunder Rosa was interviewed by Lexi Nair in the backstage area. Rosa said she was sidelined by a concussion but she is cleared. She spoke about celebrating International Girls Day in Mexico. Harley Cameron interrupted Rosa’s promo. Rosa drops Cameron with a punch.
Tag Team Match
La Faccion Ingobernable (The Beast Mortos & Rush) vs. The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum)
Aubrey Edwards had to turn away while Dralistico trips Turbo Floyd while he was going for a suplex.
Rush fell on top of Floyd then Dralistico grabs Floyd’s foot from ringside while Rush got the win.
Winners: La Faccion Ingobernable
-After the match LFI put the boots to The Outrunners before FTR came out and fought LFI. The Outrunners recovered and helped FTR clear LFI from the ring.
-A Sammy Guevara video package aired. He said he’s been with AEW for 5 years and takes a lot of pride in being called an AEW Original. He spoke of trying to give fans a moment they’ve never seen before. He spoke about his desire to face the best. Guevara said he asked for a match with Shelton Benjamin and it will happen on Dynamite. Get ready for another moment Guevara said
Trios Titles Match
Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta & PAC) (c) vs. Top Flight (Dante Martin & Darius Martin) & Action Andretti
Blackpool Combat Club took turns hitting Action Andretti with running elbows in the ring then PAC puts him away with a Piledriver for the win.
Winners & Still Trios Champions: Blackpool Combat Club (STILL CHAMPIONS!!!)
-After the match BCC worked over the Top Flight as Jon Moxley’s entrance theme played while he & Marina Shafir entered through the crowd. Moxley entered the ring while Shafir stayed at ringside. Moxley took a shot at Andretti and gave instructions to the others. Leila Grey entered the ring and pleaded with Moxley’s crew to stop but Shafir quickly took her out.
