Mark Briscoe: Athena Is In My Top Five For Best Professional Wrestlers In The World Today

Mark Briscoe praises Athena!

It has been 700 days deep into the ROH Women’s Championship reign of Athena who many believe to be the next face of the women’s division for All Elite Wrestling when they can find someone to dethrone the champion of her queendom. The former ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe took the time to give Athena their flowers and say she is in his top-five for the best wrestlers in the world today.

“I just want to take this time to put over one of, if not the best professional wrestler in the world, top five in my book, anyway, and that is Athena. I mean, the way that she has carried this Ring of Honor Women’s Title and, I mean, just whenever you know the decision is made to get her on AEW, she’s going to take over, man. She’s just so complete and so good as a performer and as a wrestler,” he said on the Battleground Podcast.

Briscoe recently lost his ROH World Championship to Chris Jericho on the 10/23 edition of AEW Dynamite in a Ladder War match.
