Disco Inferno, Pro Wrestling’s Biggest Joke, On “Comedy” Offending “Democrats”
The views expressed in this or any other editorial are solely those of the writer and do not necessarily represent the views, thoughts, feelings, or sense of humor as any Bodyslam.net staff. They are opinions and should not be considered news.
Normally, Disco Inferno isn’t an expert on anything — not pro wrestling, not dancing, not even being farted on. But when it comes to comedy, the guy might be on to something. That’s because for the past 30 years, he’s been the biggest joke the world of professional wrestling has ever produced.
So, when the former WCW Television Champion talks about comedy, we listen. And then we laugh at him. Because he’s so fucking stupid.
Case-in-point: On Monday, after a disastrous Trump rally that happened in Madison Square Garden, Discotheque joined the rest of the internet in offering his thoughts about a comedian who completely bombed on the biggest stage of them all.
The individual in question, Tony Hinchcliffe, is supposedly a comedian. But you wouldn’t know it judging by his “set” during the Trump rally.
“Alright, heck yeah!” this dork began. “That’s a cool black guy, with a thing on his head. What the hell is that? A lampshade? I’m just kidding. That’s one of my buddies. He had a Halloween party last night. We had fun. We carved watermelons together.”
Not feeling like that was racist enough, he opted to “joke” about one of the largest communities that make up New York City.
“I don’t know if you guys know this, but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now,” Hinchcliffe stated. “Yeah, I think it’s called Puerto Rico.”
So, yeah. This attempt at “comedy” did not land. The actual humor of this situation is that even the majority of the typically-racist MAGA crowd didn’t laugh. If you’re too racist for a MAGA crowd you’re, like, next-level.
Naturally, people were offended. Both Democrats and Republicans chastised the comic, as well as the Trump campaign for even featuring him. While some were upset by the literal racism, most people were offended simply because the guy wasn’t funny.
But, as is always the case, if there is a side to take, Disco Inferno will be on the wrong one.
Again, both Democrats and Republicans rebuked Hinchcliffe. But, of course, D-Inferno conveniently ignored that aspect. However, like we said, when it comes to jokes, Disco Inferno knows what of he speaks.
Chavo Guerrero agrees,, and he responded to The Disco with that thought in mind.
Disco, rarely one to just take the ‘L’ and move on (which he should always do, because he always loses), responded to Chavo, asking “Where’s the lie?”
Chavo responded to that as well.
No lie. Of course, in an attempt to once again gain any semblance of relevancy, Disco invited Chavo to be a guest on his podcast. He also tried to prove that he definitely wasn’t stupid, so he used big words and weird phrasing.
We’re rarely in support of bullying. But man oh man, Disco deserves to be shoved into a locker, like, so hard. Luckily, we have people like Chavo Guerrero (and literally everybody else) to perform the written equivalent each and every time Disco Inferno says something stupid.
Still though. When it comes to jokes, Disco knows more than many… and that’s because he, himself, has been one for the last 30 years.
On that note, completely incidentally, here’s a list of the best matches and moments of Disco Inferno’s career: https://www.bodyslam.net/2023/02/01/editorial-the-best-matches-and-moments-of-disco-inferno/
