AEW Dynamite Review (October 30th, 2024)

On October 30th, 2024 AEW aired the 265th episode of Dynamite live in Cleveland Ohio inside Wolstein Center.

Note: This review will be shorter then normal as it be the last few mins of the match.

-Kicking off this week’s Dynamite with  footage after last week’s Dynamite where the Blackpool Combat Club attacked Chuck Taylor but it gets cut off right away by Orange Cassidy & he heads to the ring with a microphone. Cassidy says he doesn’t do this as this isn’t who he is and says he is no leader, that’s not what he is. After last week when he watched his best friend Chuck Taylor get his neck crushed by a steel chair, he looked around and was surrounded by the people he shouldn’t have been. He admires their courage but they are very young as they are the future of AEW and they have no idea of the danger they are in and how dangerous Jon Moxley so he knows right then and there what he needs to do. If Moxley has his way, there is no future AEW and they have no place to go. He says Moxley needed AEW while he does and he doesn’t exist without AEW. He needs to stop this and cut the head off the snake and make sure nobody else gets hurt, and he will do it himself, protecting everybody by challenging Moxley for the AEW World Title and he will take it out of his bag and put it in his backpack and tells Moxley to let him know as he’s not hard to find.

-We see TBS Champion Mercedes Mone’ & Kamille walking in the back before Renee Paquette stops them and asks Mone for a prediction in Kamille’s match tonight against Kris Statlander. Mone says she hates terrible questions and Statlander doesn’t hold a candle to Kamille. Mone gets offended at Paquette saying good luck and says you don’t need luck when you’re with the CEO.

Adam Cole vs. Buddy Matthews

Adam Cole stops Buddy Matthews with another superkick and hits Panama Sunrise just for Matthews to spill to the outside where Cole hits him with another Panama Sunrise.

Cole tosses Matthews back inside and hits The Boom to get the win.

Winner: Adam Cole

-After the match Cole gets on the mic and appreciates Buddy for what he did by reminding him who the real Adam Cole is and for that he thanks him. Cole puts his hand out as Matthews gives the handshake back. The lights go out, just to come back on as Malakai Black is in Matthews’ place giving Cole a handshake.

-Renee Paquette is in the back with Private Party & Christopher Daniels as Daniels brings up him and Frankie Kazarian being in this same position years ago. That night, he let Kazarian down and things weren’t the same after that and Kazarian isn’t even there anymore. He tells Private Party to think about what they are risking tonight as Quen & Zay say they got this and history won’t repeat itself.

-We see Cole getting checked out by medical in the back with Undisputed Kingdom there. Cole says it looks like Malakai Black is next on his radar but he addresses MJF by saying he doesn’t blame him for shattering his ankle and never checking up on him when he was injured. Guys like Cole & MJF are meant to be enemies, not friends and he starts giving examples of what MJF did to Wardlow, Sammy Guevara & Daniel Garcia. This isn’t his first rodeo and MJF needed to be taught a hard lesson and he cares about what AEW was built on and MJF has never been a part of that team and never will be. He swears that he and Undisputed Kingdom will get his hands on MJF at Full Gear and he’ll be happy to team MJF another lesson.

-Don Callis & Kyle Fletcher come out to the ramp as Callis says Fletcher has something important to say. Fletcher says he is a man of his word and is here to call out Will Ospreay, which he does. Fletcher calls him out a couple of times but no music and no Ospreay. Fletcher says he’s just as disappointed as everybody else, but before he can continue, we hear Aussie Open’s music as Mark Davis makes his way out. Fletcher says it’s not the man he was expecting but it’s good to see him but as he goes in for a hug, Davis stops him. Davis says that Fletcher is calling out Ospreay when he knows well that Ospreay is laid out at home for what he did to him. Davis says he doesn’t even know who he’s looking at as Fletcher says the only thing that’s changed is him opening his eyes to the truth by seeing Ospreay for who he truly is. Fletcher says Ospreay has forgotten about him but he never has and said he would always have a spot in The Don Callis Family. Davis said they had a United Empire and Fletcher destroyed it as he started walking away. Fletcher stops him and says there is going to come a day when Davis will have to make a hard decision and he’s proven before that he has no problem cutting the past loose.

-Renee Paquette is in the back with Hangman Page as Page says he hurt Jay White so bad that he spent 3 months at home and when he comes back, he made a mistake looking for him and not the championship. Page mentions their 4-1 record against each other and says there is no such thing as redemption as there are only wins, losses and the consequences that follow. He says White doesn’t know what his strategy will be at Full Gear and mentions using a chair, strangling his friends, lighting his house on fire or breaking his ankle again. One certain thing is that he will stand over him with his hand raised and he will leave White behind.

-We see the Blackpool Combat Club making their way through the halls before we head to a commercial break.

-After the break AEW World Champion Jon Moxley says one day Orange Cassidy will understand what they are trying to do as the crowd thinks Cassidy challenged Moxley but he’s the one who challenged Cassidy by having Chuck Taylor’s neck broken. He cut some dead weight out of his life so Cassidy can focus on his goals. Everybody pointed to Cassidy for being their guy but he didn’t want to be a leader. He’s pushed Cassidy and if he wants Moxley, then that’s fine but when that happens he will fight in the valley, not the mountaintop and Cassidy better be ready to die. Moxley says Cassidy is a cool customer and thinks he pulling the strings but says let’s see about that now.

-PAC & Shafir go to hold Wheeler Yuta down as Claudio Castagnoli goes and grabs a chair and sticks Yuta’s head in it. Cassidy runs out and goes after Moxley just for Castagnoli & PAC to take him down and attack him. Yuta joins in and starts kicking away at Cassidy before Dark Order runs out to fight them off. They take it outside of the ring as the BCC destroys Cassidy & Dark Order with chairs. They place Cassidy’s head in a chair as Darby Allin descends from the rafters and starts attacking BCC. Castagnoli sends Allin into the commentary table before Top Flight, Daniel Garcia, Private Party & Lio Rush run out and join in on the fight. They take it into the crowd as Young Bucks music hits as they come out for their match.

If Private Party lose they must disband.

-After the match Young Bucks hesitate at first, before giving their titles over to Private Party showing a sign of respect.

-Renee Paquette is in the back with Jamie Hayter & Penelope Ford as Ford says she’s been here since day 1 and many people have forgotten who she is including Hayter. She talks about all the things she’s been through and after 2 years, she’ll take what he deserves. Hayter tells Ford she’s lucky there’s no physicality tonight but next week not so much as she’ll wipe the floor with her.

-We go to The Learning Tree by the ramp as Big Bill starts talking about teamwork work meaning working together. Chris Jericho mentions this being the night before Halloween and mentions that Dave Meltzer gave 4 stars to last week’s Ladder War and became a 2x ROH World Champion just like Jay Briscoe. He mentions becoming the nueve with the help of Bill & Bryan Keith before calling this city Cincinnati to boos. He mentions being in the Terrifier 3 and says he will take ROH to the biggest stage and success it’s ever seen because he’s Chris Jericho and he can.

-We get a video package for Mariah May & Anna Jay ahead of their Women’s Title match this Saturday on Collision.

-TNT Champion Jack Perry stops Alex Marvez from trying to get a word with Young Bucks before Daniel Garcia corners Perry and asks him where he was tonight. Perry makes a comment that Garcia used to dance for him before Perry walks into The Elite’s locker room as they are shredding documents and say that they have to go.

Kris Statlander vs. Kamille

Kamille comes right back with a guillotine leg drop for two followed by a Torture Rack powerbomb for another two.

Kamille goes for a Tombstone but Kris Statlander quickly reverses it and hits Wednesday Night Fever for the win.

Winner: Kris Statlander

-After the match TBS Champion Mercedes Mone runs in and takes out Statlander with a title shot. Mone yells at Kamille to head to the back and says when you want something done right, you do it yourself.

-We go to The Patriarchy in the back with their newest member Kip Sabian as Christian Cage says he wants to extend an olive branch to Hook for next week’s Dynamite where he can explain himself.

-Renee Paquette is in the back with The Conglomeration as Mark Briscoe asks when Chris Jericho bumped his head and doesn’t care about his wellbeing, because he let his brother’s name come out his dirty mouth again and he will make him pay, and suggests a match with himself, Kyle O’Reilly & Tomohiro Ishii against The Learning Tree next Wednesday in a Fight Without Honor match.

-We see the Young Bucks quickly leaving the arena before Christopher Daniels stops them and says they need them. The Bucks said this place is too chaotic and they will be working from home.

-We see Brandon Cutler running after their car with a box of shoes but he gets taken out by Blackpool Combat Club. Daniels tries to stop him but he gets held down by Moxley as Claudio Castagnoli attacks Cutler’s hand with a hammer. Moxley says things are just getting good and asks Daniels where his boys went.

Swerve Strickland vs. Shelton Benjamin

Swerve Strickland gets right back up with House Call before hitting a 450 Splash for two.

They continue before they take each other down.

Strickland heads to the top rope as Shelton Benjamin joins just for Strickland to escape and hit a Liger Bomb followed by Swerve Stomp to get the win.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

-After the match MVP is seen making a phone call on his cell as commentary wonders who he’s calling. The lights go out for a second and when they turn on we hear some unfamiliar music as Bobby Lashley comes out. Lashley gets in Strickland’s face but as Benjamin gets on the apron and distracts Strickland Lashley takes out Strickland. Lashley & Shelton attack Strickland as MVP holds down Prince Nana with his cane before he gets taken out by Benjamin with a kick. Lashley puts Strickland in the Hurt Lock as security comes out to try and stop them, just to get taken out. MVP gets on the mic and says Guess who’s back in business
