The big man is back… and he’s not the only one!
Ricochet Chooses PowerHouse Hobbs
The main event of AEW Dynamite was Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher vs. Ricochet and a partner of his choosing. Ricochet got on the mic before the match and said he was able to choose anyone in AEW, and he chose a man who The Don Callis Family forgot about. That man is PowerHouse Hobbs, who came out to a huge reaction.
Hobbs has been on the shelf for a year with a knee injury, but the big man is back and he hasn’t missed a step. Ricochet and Hobbs immediately meshed and were hitting some awesome tag team moves to kick things off. Hobbs was on a roll on the early going but Takeshita and Fletcher started to turn things around.
Hobbs and Takeshita having a strike battle had the crowd on their feet, but Powerhouse Hobbs showed his power and dropped Takeshita. Fletcher and Ricochet started to go at it, with Fletcher getting the best of Ricochet momentarily. Takeshita ran in and wrecked Ricochet with a running knee, and a doomsday device from The Family had Ricochet almost beat.
The high-flyer battled back and almost had it won with a shooting star press on Takeshita, but the spirit-gun finished it off for Ricochet and Hobbs.nAfter the match, Fletcher attacked Ricochet and Hobs with a chair before Mark Davis ran out and shoved Fletcher down. Lance Archer attacked Davis from behind with the help of Brian Cage. Adam Cole then ran out and attacked Takeshita, as they brawled to the back. Will Ospreay then returned to help Davis. Hobbs took out Archer, Fletcher ran.
Ospreay, Ricochet, Davis and Hobbs all stood tall to end the show.
