Viviane Araujo Feels 100 Percent Following Meniscus Injury

She’s back and better than ever.

Viviane Araujo Returns

Viviane Araujo returns this Saturday at UFC 309 against Karine Silva. But, it was a tough road to get here following a meniscus injury.

Back in February, Viviane Araujo lost to Natalia Silva, but, in that fight, she suffered some damage to her meniscus that required surgery. She was then supposed to return in July, but wasn’t 100% then. Now, Viviane says during media day that she is 100% heading into this weekend.

Feeling great. So, after last night, after my most recent fight, I had an injury. So, I sustained some injured and I had some damage to the meniscus, had to get surgery, recover, spend some time in Vegas recovering from the P.I., bad to pull out of that fight against Jasmin that was going to happen in July, if I’m not mistaken, but now, I had the time to recover and regroup and I feel better than ever. I’m very ready for this fight on Saturday.

She went on to say that the recovery was actually very fast.

So, the injury, obviously in the fight against Natalia, I actually had a pretty quick recovery. I feel it was very quick, recovery was going very fast. I just didn’t feel ready, was not 100% ready for the fight against Jasmin, that’s why I had to pull out, but as soon as that time passed, we already scheduled the fight against Karine and I was ready.

Now, she has an undefeated Karine Silva standing in her way and they’ll go to war this Saturday, November 16 at UFC 309 from Madison Square Garden. You can see the full card for UFC 309 here.
