Jon Jones is over Tom Aspinall.
UFC 309 Fight Week
UFC 309 fight week is upon us. This means, countless interviews, questions, media obligations, appearances and much more for the fighters. But, for Jon Jones, if he doesn’t want to do an interview, he simply just won’t. Thursday morning, the current UFC Heavyweight Champion was scheduled for an interview with TNT Sports reporter Adam Catterall. When he realized who the interview was for, Jon walked out.
Jon realized that the reporter was from the U.K., and made mention that he knows there will be a ton of questions about Tom Aspinall, therefore he won’t do the interview. Jon said “Hey, I’m not going to do this interview,” “No, because it’s going to be an Aspinall-fest.” Jon then was seen greeting the reporter in the lobby to say that it was “nothing personal” but “I see how close you [and Aspinall] are, common sense tells me what type of questions I was going to get asked.” Catterall then responds with “You’re entitled to it. Speak to who you want to.” You can see the full interaction here.
Jon did end up speaking with TNT Sports under a different reporter and was not asked about Tom.
