Colby Covington Steps In To Fight Joaquin Buckley At UFC Tampa

UFC Tampa has a card change.

UFC Tampa

Joaquin Buckley and Ian Garry were set to headline UFC Fight Night Tampa on December 14, but that’s no more. UFC announced that Ian Garry will now step in to fight Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310 a week before on December 7. So, Buckley was left opponent-less for a second. That’s been corrected, now.

Joaquin Buckley will now fight Colby Covington on December 14th in Tampa, Florida. We haven’t seen Colby since he lost to Leon Edwards in December of 2023. Now, a year later, he’s back. Colby is currently ranked #6 in the Welterweight Division, with Buckley ranked #9. So, a win for Buckley would boost him up, while a win for Colby would boost his confident, beating a current, young fighter.
