On November 15th, 2024 WWE aired the 1,317th episode of Smackdown live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin inside Fiserv Forum.
Note: This review will be shorter then normal as it be the last few mins of the match.
-Kicking off this week’s Smackdown with footage was shown of Randy Orton’s piledriver injury angle from last week while Cody Rhodes looked upset.
-Cody Rhodes wastes no time calling out Kevin Owens and says he crossed quite the line last week. He demands that Owens come to the ring but Nick Aldis instead comes down to the ring and says he understands that Rhodes is angry. He says no one knows better than him how long it takes to get to WWE and while people will do what it takes to win titles and make money, Owens crossed a line by attacking Randy Orton and he can’t have him present.
-Rhodes says Nick Aldis is making a martyr of him but Aldis cuts him off and says this isn’t about money. He says this is about sending a message to the rest of the roster and the matter will be resolved internally. Rhodes says he knows that Aldis has to be objective as a General Manager but under the suit, he knows that Aldis is still a wrestler. He tells Aldis to imagine being in his shows in the back of the ambulance calling Orton’s family. He says WrestleMania 40 was a highlight of his life and during the Premium Live Event, Orton told him that he was proud of him. He says he will cherish that moment forever because that’s what Orton means to him and now he’s sidelined with an injury because of him. He asks Aldis what he expects him to do to Owens and says the ball in his court but he won’t wait for long.
-We then head backstage and see Jimmy Uso catch up with Jey Uso & Sami Zayn. Jimmy says Roman Reigns will be at the arena shortly and wants to meet with the 3 of them and Zayn leaves after saying he has an idea as to who the 5th member of their WarGames team could be.
Non Title Quarter Final Match Of The Womens United States Title Tournament
Bayley vs. Women’s Speed Champion Candice LeRae vs. B Fab
Candice LeRae pins Bayley but B Fab breaks the fall and LeRae rains down right hands on her.
Bayley then sends LeRae crashing into the turnbuckle but B Fab lands a slam on Bayley.
She dumps LeRae onto the apron but Bayley rolls her up for the win.
Winner: Bayley
-Sami Zayn was shown speaking to United States Champion LA Knight backstage before Knight walks towards the ring.
-After the break we go backstage Chelsea Green & Piper Niven approached B Fab and called her B Flop. She told her not everyone can be champion and when they became the Women’s United States Champion, they would let her hold it. B Fab replied that only one of them can be champion and what happens if they are in the finals together? Michin then walked up and asked if there was a problem and Green & Niven scurried away due to her carrying a Kendo Stick.
-LA Knight made his entrance in the arena. He said he’s been around the world and everybody is looking for his United States Champion. He brought up Sami Zayn asking him to join the Bloodline Civil War. He said it’s not his fight and he doesn’t care if the Bloodline tears itself apart. Knight said he’s got his own prize to worry about and it wasn’t the Logan Paul show because it gets defended more than twice a year. He called out the open challenger and Santos Escobar made his entrance with the rest of Legado Del Fantasma.
-They surrounded the ring and tried to make it a mystery about who was accepting the match. Santos grabs a microphone and asked Knight why he can’t say something cool like Es Co Bar Si! and that got a chuckle out of LA Knight. Escobar mentioned Elektra Lopez having an opportunity to become the 1st Women’s United States Champion and he thought it would be a good idea to bring home the United States Title to his family. Knight drew attention to Humberto as he was staring a hole in him. Knight said he was staring at him like his head was covered in BBQ sauce and wondered if he was hungry.
-Knight told Escobar he had already beaten him, but he could give Humberto the opportunity of a lifetime. He then said he would beat him just like his Daddy. Knight then told Humberto not to get any ideas because the only one who could call him Daddy was Elektra Lopez. He then said while she was calling him Daddy and Berto was screaming Uncle, he’d have every saying LA Knight. Humberto then jumped Knight heading into commercial.
United States Title Match
LA Knight (c) vs. Humberto
Humberto looks to land a Shooting Star Press on LA Knight but Knight lands a boot on him and hits a powerslam. He looks to land an elbow drop but Humberto avoids it and sits Knight on the top rope.
Knight fights off Berto and connects with an elbow drop then follows it up with BFT for the win.
Winner & Still United States Champion: LA Knight (STILL CHAMPION!!!)
-After the match Shinsuke Nakamura attacks Knight from behind and lays him out.
-We then head backstage where Sami Zayn informs The Usos that his WarGames recruit didn’t end up panning out before they enter Roman Reigns’ dressing room.
-Solo Sikoa demands that Milwaukee acknowledge him but before he can continue, Roman Reigns’ music hits and he makes his way out alongside The Usos & Sami Zayn.
-Both teams begin to brawl and Jey flies to level Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa. Jacob Fatu takes down Jimmy & Jey as Sikoa looks to land a Samoan Spike on Zayn. Reigns connects with a spear on Sikoa and stares down Fatu but Bronson Reed attacks Reigns from behind to reveal himself as the 5th member of The Bloodline’s WarGames team. Zayn & The Usos attack Reed & Fatu but The Bloodline overpowers the three men. Reigns sends Loa crashing into a ring post and the barricade then lands Superman punches on Reed and Fatu. Sikoa hits Reigns with a Samoan Spike and Fatu lands a moonsault on him off the top rope. Reed follows it up with a Tsunami on Reigns and The Bloodline stand tall alongside Reed as security runs down to gain control of everything.
-We get a video from Kevin Owens & he explained that he was turned away from the arena. He said he only did his job and it was ridiculous that Randy Orton called him out and now he was in trouble for putting Orton on the shelf. Owens then said Nick Aldis told him to be in Salt Lake City next week because Golden Boy Cody Rhodes wants him there. He said he shouldn’t but he would be there for himself and not Cody. Owens then warned Rhodes that he’s going to show up next week and do his job like everybody seems to want him to.
WWE Tag Team Titles Match
Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) (c) vs. Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford)
Motor City Machine Guns double team on Montez Ford but Ford hits Alex Shelley with a clothesline and tags in Angelo Dawkins.
Dawkins then hits a shoulder pounce to Shelley over the announce desk on the outside.
Tommaso Ciampa then appears and begins attacking Motor City Machine Guns & Street Profits.
Winners: No One (No Contest) (MCMG retains)
-After the match Johnny Gargano runs down to the ring and looks to calm Ciampa down. Ciampa shoves Gargano and they storm to the back. Motor City Machine Guns help Street Profits up from the mat but Dawkins shoves Shelley.
-Footage was shown of Naomi getting a pinfall victory over Nia Jax a few weeks ago.
-Bayley & Naomi had a discussion backstage about both of them being champions. Bayley told Naomi that she had seen Raw and told her not to trust Iyo Sky. Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca BelAir & Jade Cargill then walked up and things got awkward. They told Bayley they would have Naomi’s back and this wasn’t about them. Bayley walked off and told them that they better have her back.
Women’s Title Match
Nia Jax (c) vs. Naomi
Naomi sends Nia Jax crashing into the ring post shoulder first then hits a split legged moonsault.
She goes for a pin but Jax kicks out.
Candice LeRae sends Bayley crashing into the ring post on the outside and Jax hits a Samoan Drop to Naomi off the middle rope.
She follows it up with An Nia Lator for the win.
Winner & Still Women’s Champion: Nia Jax (STILL CHAMPION!!!!)
-After the match we see Roman Reigns looking to call Paul Heyman. When he does so, he finds out that Heyman’s number has been disconnected.
