GCW Announces Multiple Legends For Hammerstein Event
Game Changer Wrestling is prepared for New York.
GCW Hammerstein
Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) is set to run Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on Sunday, January 19, 2025 with “The People vs. GCW”. This is GCW’s second event in the iconic building and a place where they’re looking to re-write the wrong of a lackluster first event at the ballroom. To do so, they’re bringing out the big guns.
Hammerstein Ballroom is synonymous with ECW when it comes to wrestling. ECW ran the iconic building in the 90’s and returned for reunion shows in the 2000’s. ROH and WWE have also ran the building. But, for lots of fans, ECW is the originator. So, GCW is throwing it back and bringing some ECW legends in for their event.
First, GCW announced that Masato Tanaka will be on the event. The legendary Japanese wrestler and ECW star will return to New York. In addition, Tajiri will also be apart of the event, as well as former rival Super Crazy. Earlier this morning, GCW broke the news that Little Guido will also be on the event. He was recently seen on NXT’s episode from Philadelphia.
Unrelated to ECW, Extreme Champion Maki Itoh was also announced for the show and will make her GCW return. The only match announced so far is a Six-Man Doors, Ladders & Chairs Match for the GCW UltraViolent Championship between John Wayne Murdoch, Matt Tremont, Brandon Kirk, Drew Parker and two more unnamed opponents.
