Shelton Benjamin vs. Mark Briscoe
The Hurt Syndicate kicked off AEW Dynamite with MVP on the microphone. He said him giving out a business card is like a golden ticket and taking it is smart. If you decline, you’ll end up like Swerve Strickland, who was beaten at Full Gear by Bobby Lashley. They showed a replay of Bobby’s win from Saturday. The mission statement from the Hurt Syndicate is to take championships and leverage to get more money. Tonight is one step closer when Shelton competes in the Continental Classic.
MVP and Bobby Lashley had to leave, as everyone is banned from ringside in the continental Classic. Bobby Lashley had a stare down with Mark Briscoe before he left. Shelton got off to a hot start, with Mark battling back, of course. Both men took the fight to each other in the early going.
Mark Briscoe took the fight to the outside, but it backfired when Shelton Suplexed him on the floor, then proceeded to throw him into everything he could on the outside. As the match went on, both men had their moments in the match. But, it was Shelton Benjamin with two brutal thrust kicks and a T-Bone Suplex slam for the win.
Shelton earns 3 points in the Continental Classic. Stay tuned for more AEW Dynamite highlights.
