Was There Any Heat Within WWE On Velveteen Dream For His Hollywood Hogan Gear At NXT TakeOver
NXT Superstar The Velveteen Dream has never been one to shy away from breaking out controversial ring attire for big NXT TakeOver events, as he has previously wore airbrushed tights which said “Call Me Up Vince” in the past. This past weekend at NXT TakeOver: War Games II was no different as the Velveteen Dream came out wearing Hollywood Hulk Hogan style gear.
This was also not the first time that Dream has sported Hulk Hogan themed ring gear, as he broke out the Hogan red and yellow gear for a match against Ricochet. However, following the “call me up Vince” gear ordeal at a previous TakeOver, Triple H stated that there would be somebody who would be taking a look at Velveteen Dream’s gear going forward.
With all the recent controversy surrounding Hulk Hogan and his “reinstatement” into the WWE Hall of Fame, it was shocking to some to see Dream come out at NXT TakeOver: War Games II in Los Angeles wearing the nWo Hollywood themed gear.
On the latest episode of the “Oh You Didn’t Know…” Podcast, Velveteen Dream’s nWo Hollywood-esque gear was discussed. Our friend Brad Shepard commented on Dream’s choice of gear and whether or not there was anyone within WWE upset with his decision to wear that to the ring, saying “Yeah, I mean I don’t think there was any problem with it.”
