UFC 310 this Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada is headlined by Alexandre Pantoja vs. Kai Asakura for the UFC Flyweight gold. But, the co-main event see’s 18-0 Shavkat Rakhmonov vs. 15-0 Ian Garry in the battle of the undefeated. Previously, Belal Muhammad was set to defend his Welterweight title against Shavkat, but pulled out due to injury and Ian stepped in.
Shavkat knows Ian is going to be another challenge for him, and he spoke about it on episode one of UFC Embedded that aired on UFC’s YouTube Channel.
My previous fight opponent got injured, so UFC management started looking for a replacement. Many fighters in our division declined the opportunity, they didn’t want to fight me. But, Ian Garry accepted the fight. I’m very excited for it. I think, it’s going to be a tough fight. He’s strong and also remains undefeated. But I see it as just another challenge for me.
Shavkat continued on to say that Ian Garry is indeed a tough fight.
It’s going to be a tough fight, one of the biggest events at the end of this year. Watch it! I invite all of you to come and support me! I’ll do everything I can to win this fight. And god willing, I will.
