Jeff Jarrett, despite a nearly 40-year in-ring career, is still going strong in AEW. But “The Last Outlaw” recently hinted at a possible future behind the announce desk.
Jarrett recently filled in on commentary for an episode of AEW Dynamite and Rampage, an experience he initially thought was a rib.
“Tony Schiavone came to me in catering and said, ‘Hey, you’re gonna do Dynamite tonight.’ I’m like, ‘Do what?’ He’s like, ‘You’re gonna be the third man.’ I said, ‘No, no, no.’ He said, ‘Really?’ I said, ‘You ribbing? What’s going on?’ He said, ‘Nope. The man has requested you to do it and they want to know if you’re up for it.’ I’m like, ‘Well what do you think Tony?’ Tony said, ‘You’ll be fine.'”

This unexpected opportunity seems to have changed Jarrett’s perspective on a potential commentary role.
“Prior to that, I would have said no,” Jarrett admitted on his My World podcast. “I’ve said it on this podcast many times… it is a freaking art to do that. But yeah, I would. When the time [comes], that would be a bonus to the career.”

Jarrett has been a wrestler, promoter, and executive throughout his extensive career. Adding “commentator” to his resume would be another chapter in a legendary career.
