Fury vs Till
Darren Till was set to fight Tommy Fury in a boxing match on January 18 for misfits, but that is off, according to Tommy Fury. In the build up to the fight, Darren Till, former MMA fighter, said that if he gets in trouble during the bout, he will just kick Tommy in the face.
Tommy was not happy about this, and made his concerns known. Now, he’s taken to Instagram to just cancel the fight altogether. Tommy says;
I can’t believe I’m writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025. For the one simple reason being that Darren stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is loosing the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics. I am a proud professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp. We are working hard to get a new opponent and date. I promise to get a better opponent and better fight for you guys. Good news around the corner.
Darren Till has fired off a bunch of posts following this announcement, one especially that explains everything. He said on X;
Just so everyone knows and is clear
Tommy Fury was the A side in this event
Which means he was getting more money and he gets to call the shots over me which is rightfully so
He’s the boxer and he’s the bigger name
So if this is the case he could not fight me and fight someone else
This is not happening Tommy has pulled out and I’m still main eventing on that date
Now I’m the A side and I call the shots
Opponent being found as we speak
I have always abided by the rules of fighting my whole life
I was building the fight with Tommy and saying things I knew he would shit himself from cos I know deep down he’s not a real fighting man
And now it’s come to fruition what I have said is true
He has pulled out and shown his true colours
See you all January 18th cos no matter what I’ll be there as I have always been
I always show up and always will for the fans whether you like me or not
Someone find John Fury for me cos he’s not answering the phone probably butting young coaches again or punching glass
Hahahahahahahahaha pigs eyes
Darren then followed up by simply posting “Billy Joe Saunders.”
KSI, who helps run misfits, said on X “Tommy Fury is scared of getting kicked in a boxing match hahaha. Darren Till is not gonna kick you mate, relax and prepare for your fight in January on Misfits.”
MMA insider Ariel Helwani also provided an update on X to say “This is utterly bizarre. And my understanding is Till is remaining on the card and Fury is out.”
