Charles Johnson vs. Alexandre Pantoja?
Following UFC 310, Alexandre Pantoja is still the UFC Flyweight Champion. After his fight, he called out Demetrious Johnson, who has now seemingly denied that request due to his retirement.
But, if Mighty Mouse isn’t next, who is? Pantoja has cleared out a lot of the division and feels like he barely has anyone else left to challenge. Well, on the post fight press conference, Alexandre Pantoja was asked about possibly fighting another up and comer in Charles Johnson who is currently on a four fight win streak in 2024. But, it seems the champion isn’t familiar.
Who? I’m sorry brother. […] You know, I think everybody has a chance, you know. You see I fight with another top 10 Erceg in Rio, Brazil. He did such good work with me there. Then UFC brings Asakura. Everybody has a chance. I’m not a match maker. I accept all the fights the guys give to me. I never say no to UFC. Never. You can call the guys and ask, I never say no to a fight. I fight Manel Kape when he came to RIZIN, same team, I’m the number five. I’m here to fight all the best, you know? UFC gives me a name, give me time for my camp, I’ll fight. Doesn’t matter.
With the division being basically cleared out the top 10, the number 13 in the world Charles Johnson could, in theory, be next. Pantoja also says the Kai Kara France could be next, as well.
