Aljamain Sterling Reveals He Contemplated Retirement Following UFC 310 Loss
The Funk Master had some thinking to do.
Aljamain Retiring?
Aljamain Sterling, former UFC Bantamweight Champion, moved up to Featherweight in an attempt to chase another title. Sadly for him, that journey was derailed at UFC 310 when he lost a decision to Movsar Evloev, in which many thought he should’ve won.
Following the fight, Aljamain reveals he went back to the locker room with his team and was contemplating retirement. At age 35, does he want to continue to climb back up to the top, where so many killers await him, risking possibly injury and surgeries? He had a reflective moment, but reveals now that he isn’t retiring and he will fight again. You can see his full explanation in the video below.
Here is some of the clip from my podcast talking about the thoughts I had immediately after my fight last weekend. Retiring did cross my mind, as well as many other potential match ups. All in all, it was self-reflection on my entire career and the fight. – Make no doubt about…
Aljamain Sterling did defeat Calvin Kattar at UFC 300. But, a win against Movsar would’ve led him to possibly being next in line for a title shot. Now, he needs a few more wins. But, he’ll continue to try.
