What a match!
AEW Dynamite kicked off with Will Ospreay vs. Buddy Matthews in a first time ever matchup. Of course, they tore the house down for the first 15 minutes of the show and had the crowd biting on every movement.
Multiple times in the match, we had near falls that could’ve ended the match in favor of both men. But, after two hidden blades, Will Ospreay picked up the win. That wasn’t it though, as Will took the microphone and spoke after the match.
Ospreay told the crowd to give it up for Buddy, which they did. Then, he told him that he wrestled Brody King and now Buddy Matthews and they’re both great. So great, that they don’t need to be following a leader. Ospreay said they’re good enough to go for Tag Gold, or Singles Gold if they want to. And if Buddy ever needs someone in his corner, Ospreay is there for him. They then embraced to end the segment.
