Saya Kamitani has had a great run recently, topped off by defeating Tam Nakano at Dream Queendom in the main event to win the World of STARDOM championship. It appears turning to the dark side to join H.A.T.E. back in July really set these events in motion. However, having the red belt is like having a literal red bullseye, as now every wrestler wants a shot at what you possess. Knowing that this position as the centerpiece of STARDOM comes with great responsibility, the Phenex Queen feels ready to help herself and the company reach new heights. She plans on having her new attitude and style become a dominant force not just in Japan but on a global scale. Kamitina was generous enough to give an interview backstage at Korakuen Hall and discuss how things have changed as champ, who her next challenger is, and her goals for the rest of the year.

How are things different after winning the Red Belt?

When I had the match in Ryogoku, we had over 4,000 fans in the building. And today’s Korakuen show also had a successful full house. Ever since I acquired the red belt and stood on the top of this company, all the fans want more of me.

What are your goals for 2025?

My New Year’s resolution for 2025 is to fan the flames of STARDOM, run amok the pro wrestling world with my carefree style, and take down all the stars of pro wrestling from corner to corner.

Is there anyone in particular that you would like to defend your title against? You challenged Suzu today.

I want to put matches that impact the souls of the ones watching my defenses of the red belt. After it was confirmed that I will be defending my belt against Suzu on February 2nd, I felt Suzu’s fire pumping through her veins so I’m excited to face a red hot determined Suzu. With Suzu and I on the card, we’ll sell out Korakuen to the standing tickets, make the crowd erupt, and have one of the best matches these people ever saw.

Thanks so much to Saya Kamitani for letting us interview her and thanks to Stardom for press access as well.
