Brock Lesnar Replacing Dean Ambrose In Baltimore WWE Live Event, Universal Title Match Now Advertised

WWE is now advertising a that Universal Champion Brock Lesnar will be defending his title against Kane on the WWE Raw brand live event in Baltimore on January 27th, 2018. The Baltimore live event also takes place the night before the Royal Rumble, same night as NXT TakeOver from Philly.

It is believed that the reason Lesnar was added to the card is likely due to him being a replacement for Dean Ambrose, since Ambrose is out for months following tricep surgery. Local advertising in Baltimore is billing the match-up as the first-ever meeting between the two superstars for the Universal Championship.

The original main event advertised for the event was supposed to be The Shield (Reigns, Rollins & Ambrose) vs. The Bar (Sheamus & Cesaro) and Samoa Joe in a six-man tag match.

It’s now scheduled to be Roman Reigns defending the Intercontinental title against Samoa Joe, and Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan defending their newly won Raw Tag Team titles against The Bar (Sheamus & Cesaro).

As previously noted Brock Lesnar is also scheduled to appear on next week’s episode of Raw.
