WWE Rumored To Have Offered Kenny Omega A Huge Multi-Million Dollar Contract
With the announcement earlier this week of the launching of a new wrestling promotion, All Elite Wrestling, and the signing of Cody & Brandi Rhodes, The Young Bucks – Matt & Nick Jackson, and Hangman Page, speculation begin over the future of the remaining members of The Elite, Kenny Omega & Marty Scurll.
Rumors have been flying around for months over WWE’s supposed interest in Omega and Scurll when their contracts are said to expire at the end of January. A new report surfaced today which claims that WWE has a $3.5 million dollar offer with a downside guarantee on the table for Kenny Omega, however according to our friends at Ringside News, those numbers appear to be highly exaggerated.
“I think offer is possible but amount isn’t even the ballpark of accurate”
While there is more than likely an offer out from WWE in attempt to sign Kenny Omega, according to sources that we also at Bodyslam have reached out too, that number does indeed appear to be a little inflated.
However, there is always the possibility that with WWE’s upcoming move to FOX for SmackDown and the influx of money the new TV deals for both RAW & SD Live, there is always a chance that this is WWE’s first sign of throwing around large contract offers just to potentially block acquisition of highly sought after free agents from other promotions WWE sees as competition.
We will keep you updated if we hear anything more regarding Kenny Omegas future once his current deal with New Japan expires at the end of the month.
