WWE Made Format Changes On The Fly During Elimination Chamber PPV
WWE held their annual Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View this past weekend, and on the surface the show appeared to go off smooth without any hiccups. However, it now appears as though WWE changed the format for the announce team on the fly during the opening match.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez talks about WWE changing the format and finish of the match on the fly, and compared it to how WCW was doing things towards the end of their run.
Regarding WWE’s changes made on the fly during the Elimination Chamber, Alvarez said:
“Dude, it is WCW. They, on the pay-per-view on Sunday in the middle of the opening match, they brought out brand new formats for all of the announcers which switched up I guess the finishes of that first match. That changed on the air. That’s WCW right there.”
It isn’t known whether or not Alvarez is referencing the opening match of the PPV or if he as talking about the opening match of the kick-off preshow.
