The Undertaker’s Segment With Elias Was Originally Supposed To Happen At WrestleMania 35
WrestleMania 35 came and went without an appearance from The Undertaker, however The Dead Man made his presence felt on RAW instead when he interrupted Elias’ musical performance, then laid him out with a chokeslam and tombstone in vintage fashion.
Many were disappointed that The Undertaker wasn’t featured in any way on this year’s WrestleMania, but it sounds now like the plan originally was to have The Undertaker’s segment we saw on RAW take place at Wrestlemania. According to a report from Mike Johnson via a recent PWInsider Elite audio update that WWE actually changed plans for The Undertaker and moved the segment to RAW instead.
“At one point there was talk that The Undertaker would be doing that segment with Elias at WrestleMania.”
So instead we were treated to a surprise return of sorts of The Dr. of Thuganomics John Cena as the one to interrupt Elias at WrestleMania, which was another last minute change as Cena was penciled in at one point to be the special guest referee for Kurt Angle’s retirement match against Baron Corbin.
It is also being said that having The Undertaker come out to interrupt Elias was not a one off, and that the two are slated to work a match in June at WWE’s Saudi Arabia PPV.
