Reasons Why Mike And Maria Kanellis Have Said To Have Have A Bad Reputation Backstage

Over the last few weeks there has been a lot of interesting developments surrounding Mike and Maria Kanellis. The two signed new five-year contracts that will see them remain with WWE through 2024, and have since been involved in a couple of featured storylines.

We saw the storyline which had Mike walk out of 205 Live go down two weeks ago, and then both he and Maria appeared this week on RAW competing in a mixed tag team match against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. Following the match a new storyline begin, which saw Maria announce that she was pregnant with the couples second child. From there Maria proceeded to cut a heated and edgy promo on her husband Mike, saying that he was a disappointment and not man enough to get her pregnant, and that maybe she should let The Man Becky Lynch get her pregnant next time.

It has been reported since that there are people backstage who are not happy at all with Mike and Maria Kanellis after revealing their pregnancy after they signed their new deals with the company, and one source was even quoted as saying that “they’re sh*t.” It was also said not to expect a push anytime soon. Which is interesting seeing as how a new storyline kicked off on RAW this week which appears to be prominently featured on the program.

On a recent audio update via PWInsider Elite, Mike Johnson commented on the announcement that Maria Kanellis is pregnant with the couple’s second child. Johnson speculated that the announcement being featured on air could mean that Maria will remain on TV while pregnant as they carry on with and progress the storyline.

In addition, Johnson also commented on the reputation that both Mike and Maria have backstage in the past. He also pointed out that Maria is the one who reportedly does the “lion’s share” of the talking for the two.

Regarding Mike and Maria’s reputation backstage, Johnson said:

“Any of my engagement with then has always been positive, they also had a reputation within Ring Of Honor and Impact for being a little hard to work with at times.”

“Well, she was the vocal one. She handled the lion’s share of the business there. There are people in Impact to this day who still often comment on what a pain in the butt they were at times and at one point they had allegedly verbally agreed to remain with the company and were going to get their deals and when they got their deals they said, ‘Yeah we’ve decided to go elsewhere and went to WWE.”

Dave Scherer then replied by adding how ironic it is that when the two came to WWE that Mike took Maria’s last name because that sums up their relationship as well.
