Enzo Amore’s Termination Responsible For Triple H’s Control Of 205 Live Brand?
On the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Live, Dave Meltzer discussed the new of Triple H officially taking over control of 205 Live. Meltzer mentioned that the termination of Enzo Amore directly influenced Vince McMahon’s decision to let Triple H have control over the brand.
“If Enzo wouldn’t have gotten fired, we wouldn’t have had this. Vince wouldn’t have given it up. Vince giving it up and Enzo getting fired were not coincidental.”
Meltzer went on to add that it was Vince McMahon’s idea to have the show centered around Enzo Amore, but to also feature comedy and technical matches and that it was doomed from the start.
“This kind of show happened with Enzo because Enzo was the star of the show; and you can’t have a serious wrestling show built around technical matches and great wrestlers, and [have] Enzo be the focal point of the show. That just doesn’t mix. So, Enzo getting fired changed the face of this.”
