The feud between Adam Cole and Pat McAfee culminated in at NXT TakeOver: XXX as the two competed in a singles match. The match saw Cole emerge victorious, but McAfee certainly performed better than anyone expected and earned the respect of fans and Superstars alike.
It is made all the more impressive as it seems the two did not have time to properly rehearse the match. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer Meltzer revealed that he was told the two Superstars did not rehearse the match at all.
“From what I’m told they did not even rehearse this match. I heard that they just went in there and did it because they knew Part was good and they know Adam is great and even then it exceeded — they did some really cool stuff.”
The match was received well by the wrestling world, especially praising Pat McAfee for his debut performance.
We will have to see what is next for Adam Cole as he is going to stay in NXT for a long time.
