RAW Underground Officially Cancelled
RAW Underground has been cancelled. In this weeks Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed the removal of RAW Underground from future episodes. It was reported back in August that the reaction to RAW Underground in the back had changed, and the company was looking to pull back on it being a segment.
One of the reasons that the show originally got put on hiatus was due to the COVID-19 outbreak within NXT. Dave Meltzer notes that the crew who had originally been told to stay home are now active gain, so in theory the Underground segment could have resumed. This doesn’t seem to be the feeling backstage, however, with three of the RAW Underground stars being officially moved to the active rosters in the draft.
Underground regulars Dabba-Kato, Arturo Ruas, and Riddick Moss were all featured in that recent 2020 Draft. There doesn’t appear to be any current direction set for these stars, and with how Vince can be, it may be a long time till we see them again.
