WXW And Fighting Spirit Close Wrestling Academies Due To Rise Of COVID
The German wrestling promotion WXW have have made the decision to temporarily close down their Wrestling Academy based in Essen due to recent spike of the Coronavirus in the Rhur area. The Academy will be closed as of the 19th of October until November 1st at the earliest.
The German Wrestling company sent out a press release in German.
An announcement was made on their Twitter page. In the announcement WXW would go on to state why they have made the decision to close, in English.
They then backed up that statement by saying:
“We love wrestling training, yet it isn’t essential to our society. Non-essential should We Feel anything non-essential be avoided at this time”

They are not the only wrestling academy in Europe to recently have to shut their doors due to a rise in coronavirus cases as British Wrestling academy Fighting Spirit announced that they will be closing also. Fighting Spirit Academy is based in Liverpool, England where they are currently in a Tier 3 Corona Virus lockdown, so would have been forced to close anyway. Fighting spirit would also make the announcement on Twitter earlier this week;
