Rey Mysterio Officially Signs With Wrestling Promotion
Rey Mysterio officially joins Aro Lucha, a Nashville, Tennessee based wrestling promotion.
The Tennessean reports that former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio will join Aro Lucha not only as an in-ring performer but also as co-owner of the company.
Aro Lucha is currently working on their first season of television recordings, with plans in place to include Rey Mysterio throughout the episodes of Season 1 of Aro Lucha.
Rey Mysterio said that Aro Lucha will be “fan-owned”, and that fans will have the opportunity to become minority shareholders.
“I think what we are doing with Aro Lucha being fan-owned is revolutionary. We are giving the fans something they have never had before, a voice and a chance to get in on the action.”
Aro Lucha Co-Founder and CEO Jason Brown also discussed giving the fans an opportunity to get in on the action:
“This gives fans a chance to get in on the action, but more so than that it really gives them a voice. Especially at a company like ours, fans are so passionate. They critique every storyline, every character. Well we’re able now to actually listen to them.”
It has been reported over the last few weeks that Rey Mysterio had been in negotiations with WWE regarding a return to the company following his surprise entrance in the 2018 Royal Rumble back in January. Mysterio suffered what may have been a potential bump in the road on his way to a WWE return when he partially tore his bicep in a match for Northeast Wrestling a couple weeks ago. At the time, it was reported that despite Mysterio’s injury that negotiations continued as he met with Triple H to discuss a possible WWE return.
