Joey Janela Pulled From AEW Due To Covid Concerns

Unfortunately., it would seem at the moment Joey Janela and Covid are synonymous with each other after GCW The Collective. Last week Joey Janela was called out for not testing wrestlers prior to his Spring Break event. Today, former GCW World Champion Aj Gray announced he had tested positive for Covid

Well, I got some bad news….

Last COVID test just came back…. and I tested positive….

I don’t really have any symptoms at all, but I’m still stuck on a 14 day quarantine, so yeah… this blows.

AJ Gray had a singles match against Joey Janela at GCW Last Resort which took place Saturday. After the positive test result was announced it looks like AEW isn’t taking any chances,

AEW and Joey Janela learned today that he had exposure to a known COVID-19 positive person at an independent show. For that reason we are pulling him until such time as he is cleared to return consistent with our protocols. pic.twitter.com/V8TJiAhuNF

After the AEW announcement, Aj Gray had his own retort to the news,

Janela was scheduled against Kenny Omega in singles action for AEW Dynamite.
