Mustafa Ali Speaks On Fans Mocking Retribution
Two storylines came together in recent weeks when Mustafa Ali turned heel. It brought together the Retribution storyline and the long running mystery as to who the mysterious hacker on SmackDown was.
Unfortunately, the Retribution group has been the victim of Vince McMahon cooling on the idea and the presentation has changed in a negative way. Even fan reaction online has been negative, with fans mocking the names and looks of T-Bar, Mace, Slapjack, and Reckoning. The faction has always been candid with their responses to these things on Twitter, but Mustafa Ali has spoken on it.
Ali has never been shy about cutting passionate promos on social media, but instead of tweeting from his personal account, Ali took to the account he used as the SmackDown hacker, TheMessageWWE, and responded personally to fans mocking the group in an interesting way.
“I want you to imagine something. I want you to imagine being judged by your name. I want you to imagine being mocked because of how you look. Now I want you to imagine a man named Mustafa Ali that has given names and masks to members of Retribution so they too can be judged by their names. They too can be mocked because of how they look. They too can see the world the way he sees it. Imagine that.”
Ali has never been shy about trying to make the most of his status in the WWE. Whether he has been used on television or not, he has found a way to create buzz for himself. Here’s hoping Ali can use his skills to generate positive buzz for Retribution again with this.
