Update On Matt Jackson’s Injury

To hype up big matches on pay per view or shows, wrestlers often sell injuries. Sometime, those injuries are more for storyline purposes to help heighten suspense for those matches.

AEW has been focusing on an injury to hype up a match on Full Gear involving FTR and the Young Bucks. It was mentioned on occasion during last night’s AEW Dynamite that Matt Jackson was injured, and he was selling his leg being hurt in their match against Private Party.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Matt Jackson is legitimately injured. According to Bryan Alvarez, Jackson has a partially torn MCL and “a thinning of the ACL which is considered a tear, and that’s why he has the ankle injury.” Dave Meltzer confirmed the injury, saying it took place during a dive off the stage a couple weeks back when the Young Bucks took on The Butcher & The Blade.

Currently, there is no plan to cancel the match to allow Jackson to heal up, and in fact they have added a new stipulation to the match.
