Rey Mysterio Talks Retirement
Rey Mysterio has some deep ties in the WWE right now. His son has started his pro wrestling career and his daughter is a major part of his storyline with Seth Rollins and Murphy. It could be argued Mysterio is having the time of his life working for the WWE right now. However, there does seem to be a horizon in place for Mysterio.
He was a recent guest on the Chasing Glory podcast, and he spoke about how he’s keeping himself in shape, but how much longer he sees his career going for.
“I’ll be 45 in December. And I don’t see myself going past 50, that’s for sure. My body feels great right now. I’ve been doing new methods of therapy – STEM cells, hyperbaric chambers, cryo chambers, CBD’s, you know, a lot of things that benefit me. I think that has given me more longevity.”
He went on to add that he doesn’t see himself leaving WWE because “you can’t go any higher than this.” He also mentioned that he’s always envisioned himself ending his career in the WWE, so this could quiet any rumors he has AEW on his radar in the future. Mysterio just inked a three-year deal with the WWE recently, so there may be one more extension before we see our very last 619 from Mysterio in a WWE ring.
