There are times when talent come into a company that excites the remainder of a roster because they all want to work with them. The talent starts imagining what kind of matches they could have together, and AEW may have found a new pair that’s getting other people on their roster imagining what they can do when they work together.
Top Flight, the team of Darius and Daunte Martin, has already drawn a lot of buzz for the company. Their match against The Young Bucks was announced and then pulled from this past Wednesday’s Dynamite, only to be scheduled for the upcoming show. Matt Jackson has said on the show and on social media the team reminds him of his own tag team. Not only is he excited to work with them, but according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they aren’t the only one.
They got the tryout when they sent Matt [Jackson] a video and after watching a few seconds he wanted them in. He felt the same with them as he did when he first saw Private Party. They came in for Dark and a lot of the teams were really impressed and wanted to work with them. They’re green but almost everyone is when they are this new.
Buzz like this can only be good for Top Flight. Not only could it help their chances of getting signed, but it can only help their independent bookings should they not get picked up by AEW. Wednesday will be a great chance to see what they can do.
