WWE Considering Using CWC For Raw & SmackDown Temporarily
WWE has had to quickly start making plans for a new ThunderDome location. While they seemed to have their eyes on Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, there are still potential problems with that location that could make the matter difficult.
The WWE has two key dates in the situation. Their lease with Orlando’s Amway Center ends November 25th, while they must be out of the building by December 5th. They will need to break down the ThunderDome set to move it to a new location, but WWE still has shows to produce between that period of time. With no official position ready to go, WWE may have to fall back on a location they’re already familiar with: The Capitol Wrestling Center.
Ringside News has reproted that the WWE is looking into running Raw and Smackdown at this location for a short stay, as their source told them to not expect many Raw or SmackDowns produced at that location.
I wouldn’t be surprised as a one week thing. If it’s more than one week, I’d be very surprised.
Survivor Series is on November 22nd and they’ll still have access to the ThunderDome as we know it for Raw the next night. Unless plans come together fairly quickly, they’ll have to find arrangements for the following week’s shows unless they can make arrangements with the Amway Center. After all, there’s no official announcement about Tropicana Field, and it may still just be speculation.
