Impact Wrestling Attempted To Bring WWE Hall Of Famer Back At Bound For Glory
Impact Wrestling did their best to surprise their fans quite a bit at Bound For Glory. The open secret of The Rock helping induct Ken Shamrock into their Hall of Fame was still a big surprise considering Rock’s long standing loyalty to the WWE. They worked on another surprise, but the logistics just didn’t quite work out.
In a report by PWInsider, Impact worked to get Kurt Angle to make a return to the company. They didn’t explain what the purpose would have been, be it just an appearance or more, but the appearance just didn’t come together. Angle has a lot on his plate right now with his business ventures, so that also could’ve come into play.
The talks between Angle and Impact stalled, and now apparently aren’t happening. While it’s possible Angle could make his return to Impact another time, it doesn’t seem to be on the radar at the moment. Angle, up until earlier this year, had been a producer for the WWE and had made an appearance to be the guest referee in a MMA style cage match between Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher, but hasn’t returned since. Angle also declined a chance to return to television as Matt Riddle’s manager on the main roster, but he’ll return to the company at Survivor Series as part of Undertaker’s Final Farewell.
