WWE has finally officially ended its search for a new ThunderDome location.
After many days of speculation of where they would relocate to after their time at Orlando’s Amway Center wrapped up, WWE has confirmed their move to Tropicana Field in the Tampa Bay area starting with the December 11th Smackdown. No end date was given, but we recently reported to expect them to be there until the end of WrestleMania season. The company made the announcement about Tropicana Field official today on social media.
Breaking: @WWE will bring its world-class viewing experience, WWE #ThunderDome, to @TheTrop in Tampa Bay as it begins a new residency starting with #SmackDown on Friday, December 11 at 8 PM ET on @FOXSports.
With the date starting on December 11th, this lines up with another earlier report that Raw and SmackDown will temporarily take place at the Capitol Wrestling Center likely to happen. Unless WWE worked out a deal to remain with the Amway Center, this seems to be the likely scenario.
