More On Arturo Ruas’ NXT Return – Why He Moved Back, Injury News
Arturo Ruas was quietly returned to NXT from Monday Night Raw this week, facing Kushida in a losing effort.
Ruas had been sitting on the sidelines thanks to creative having no plans for him despite being one of the requested callups Paul Heyman made when he the executive director of Monday Night Raw. Now we have more on Ruas’ return to the black and gold brand and more.
Fightful Select was the first to report that Ruas returned to NXT being a casualty of the cancellation of RAW Underground. They stated that “sidelining RAW Underground set the stage for his NXT return.” That was not known immediately, as Ruas was still listed as main roster talent. Ruas was listed as a star that could be available in the 2020 Draft, only to remain unselected leaving him a “free agent.” Ruas then returned to NXT where it was reported the creative team had actual plans for him going forward.
Ruas unfortunately suffered a biceps injury during his match with Kushida and is sidelined. The Fightful report on Ruas said that he filmed content for WWE digital, but it wasn’t used which may have to do storyline they had planned for him before learning of his injury.
There is no word currently on the extent of the injury and if Ruas will need surgery, but we wish him a speedy recovery.
