Exclusive: Blame Seemingly Passed Once Again On Who Backed WWE’s Third Party Ban

WWE’s recent ban on third party accounts for their Superstars has been a hot topic as of late, even more so since the company released Zelina Vega last week for refusing to deactivate her onlyfans account.

It was reported in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the idea for WWE’s third party ban was backed by a couple of high ranking company executives, one of which they claimed was Bruce Prichard (the other being Brad Blum). It was also noted that Prichard was allowed to keep his podcast as part of his agreement to return to the company, which seemingly contradicts his support of WWE’s ban on third party accounts, despite being allow one of his own somewhat.

I reached out to a source close to the situation for a comment on whether or not it was Bruce Prichard’s idea and if he supported WWE’s new policy, and I was told:

“This isn’t a case of Bruce being “allowed” to keep his podcast. He negotiated it as part of his deal to come back to the company. To think he wouldn’t want others to have outside opportunities is silly.”

“Styles and others could have negotiated their Twitch presence and other third parties during their re-signing negotiations.”

This is an interesting quote, being that WWE’s third party ban is a very recent mandate handed down from the company. You have to wonder how any WWE Superstar would be expected to have the foresight to see that this could have been an issue in the future at the time of their contract negotiations.
