Hulk Hogan Claims He Told The Undertaker That He Needed To Meet Vince McMahon

Hulk Hogan has made a lot of claims in his lifetime. Some of them are meaningless and others are kind of tall tales that make fans do some fact checking. A recent claim made by Hogan as he congratulated The Undertaker on his retirement sent some fans digging.

Hogan is no stranger to backhanded compliments or trying to put the spotlight on himself, and his tweet congratulating The Undertaker featured an interesting fact from him.

Amazing career the Undertaker has had,30yrs of Main Events and always was nothing but money,I will never forget Taker on the set of Suburban Commando,I told him Vince needs to meet you,30 awesome years brother HH

Hogan, essentially, is saying he’s responsible for The Undertaker in the WWE. This contradicts Undertaker’s view as he has often said he credits Paul Heyman for helping him make it to the WWE. Undertaker mentions how Heyman was managing him in WCW when he began to feel disenfranchised with the company, when Heyman wound up speaking with Bruce Prichard. Undertaker says Heyman pushed Prichard into getting Undertaker a meeting with Vince and the rest is history. Undertaker even says he might be one of the original Paul Heyman guys in an interview with Sports Illustrated.

Furthermore, a search on iMDB reveals that Suburban Commando started filming in September of 1990 and completed in January of 1991. Unless Undertaker came to set in the early days of filming and wasn’t already signed by the company, about half of principal filming on the movie takes place by the time Undertaker was contracted to the company.

Hulk Hogan’s viewpoints can often be taken as gospel by his fans, but sometimes a simple Google search can reveal Hogan’s words can often be as tall of a tale as the legend of Hulkamania.
